Art by Diann Bishop

Fine Arts Blount (FAB) is a non-profit group of artists, located in Blount County, Tennessee, dedicated to

  • Encouraging high standards and excellence in the visual arts.
  • Supplying exhibit venues for our Blount County artists.
  • Enriching community life with "Artreach" programs.
  • Working with community youth and adults through volunteer art projects.

The following members make up the governing board of FAB:

President:  Pam Broockman

Vice President:  Grady Caskey

Treasurer:  Gloria Nelson

Secretary:  Bruce Busey

Myriad workshops and classes in the visual arts are offered at ArtSpace, FAB's bricks-and-mortar presence in downtown Maryville.  In January, 2007, FAB was the founding entity of the successful, ongoing Last Friday Art Walk.

Youth who participate in the arts achieve higher test scores, thus obtaining better jobs; they have more self-esteem, they are creative thinkers, better readers, more proficient in math; they contribute to their communities.  Art and artists contribute to the economy.
